This is a loosely twisted towel, so it has a very fluffy and soft texture. The threads of a towel are not a single strand, but rather several strands twisted together. If you look closely at a single thread of a towel, you'll see it's twisted. This is called "twisting" (yori). If no twist is applied, the towel will be weak and break easily, so "loosely twisted" (amayori) refers to a towel with minimal twisting, just enough to prevent breakage. Because loosely twisted towels have less tight twisting, there are gaps within the fibers, resulting in a fluffy and voluminous towel. They hold a lot of air, making them highly absorbent and excellent at retaining water. This is a voluminous bath towel with a pleasant texture. This is a certified product of the "Imabari Towel Brand." Not all towels produced in Imabari receive the Imabari Towel mark. It is a mark awarded only to those that pass strict quality inspections. In other words, items with the certification mark are proof of high quality among towels made in Imabari, having cleared rigorous standards.
