Antique Ko-Imari, Edo period, Sometsuke (blue and white) Ochoko (small sake cup). (We guarantee the age and origin. This is not a modern product.) This is a very rare item. It has a beautiful, slightly rounded shape, typical of mid-Edo period Ochoko. A stylized peony arabesque pattern hangs from the rim. The flowers and leaves are stencil-printed. (It's unclear whether the vine part is stencil-printed or hand-painted.) The pattern is on two sides. The back has the mark "Made in the Great Ming Dynasty" (Dai Ming Nen Sei). It's unfortunate that there are many scratches, but it's amazing how beautiful it still is in this condition. Recommended for collectors. It would be quite expensive if it were in perfect condition. The overall glaze is soft, and there are some stains. There is an 8mm chip on the rim. A part of the bottom is dented, and the back bulges accordingly. The bulge is lower than the foot, so it doesn't affect the stability. This is a one-of-a-kind item. The price reflects the condition. The noticeable damage is photographed.
