This is a U.S. Army mountain troop M-42 parka from the 1940s. It was designed for snowy mountains and is reversible, with a white color on the inside. The Talon zipper opens and closes smoothly. I believe this is a very good piece considering its age. The U.S. Army adopted this reversible olive drab and white overcoat in 1942, primarily for mountain warfare. Production lasted less than a year before it was replaced by the M-43 pullover type. The M-42 is a rare item, much less common than the M-43.
