Antique German bisque doll purchased from overseas. Size is 20 inches, approximately 51 cm. Manufacturer is Gebruder Kuhnlenz. Head mark is the number 44-29. This is an early doll, with only "Germany" marked and no sun tan marks. Head is without scratches. Set eyes. Open mouth with 4 teeth. Lip contours are defined. It is also wearing a costume like those in Chinese historical dramas. It was described as a "Gebruder Kuhnlenz Asian doll." The body is composition and wood. Although there are some paint chips and repaints in places, there are no cracks. It has straight wrists without wrist joints, which is seen in early German dolls. All fingers are present. The costume consists of a silk dress similar to a kimono, a straight-fitting one-piece dress underneath, and long underwear. It is wearing socks and zori (Japanese sandals). A dress and human hair wig have been added. The original wig was a mohair wig with an old pate attached, but a new synthetic long wig has been styled. The hair ornaments are from the original wig + items I had at home. Since it's difficult to insert pins into the original pate, a pate has been made from styrofoam. Doll stand included.
