The band kanekoayano, led by Kaneko Ayano, surprise-released the album "Ishi no Ito" digitally on April 25th. This is their first full album under the band name "kanekoayano" since August 2024, and their first album in about two years since "Towelket wa Odayakana." They spent a year in pre-production with band members Hirotoshi Hayashi on guitar and Takuyaiizuka on bass. The band then added drummer Sei Nagahata and percussionist Ryotaro Miyasaka as support members, forming a five-piece band. All ten tracks, including re-recordings of "Lucky" and "Sabishikunai," were recorded in about two weeks. The album retains Kaneko Ayano's signature folky side while significantly increasing the freedom of arrangement. Psychedelic songs are more psychedelic, and songs approaching krautrock and dub have evolved and deepened in an experimental way, incorporating congas and steelpan to paint various landscapes with each song. This is a very band-like work, with each member's individuality reflected in the songs more than ever before.
