This product is made using the traditional Japanese technique of "te-yaki" (hand-burning), where paulownia wood is burned and then polished with cotton cloth to bring out the natural wood grain. The drawstring bag has some minor stains inside. They are on the inside, so they shouldn't affect use, but please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about the stains.
