Ventile is a super-dense fabric made of 100% cotton with very high water resistance. Originally developed for the British Air Force, it has a history of being used as waterproof clothing. The main features and benefits of Ventile are: * Water resistance * Wind resistance * Breathability These three points are fundamental. The mechanism for its high water resistance, despite being 100% cotton, lies in the density of the weave. Because it is woven with a very high number of threads, it is woven to a super-high density, blocking water droplets from the outside and providing high water resistance. By the same principle, it also blocks wind, providing wind resistance. On the other hand, water vapor from the inside can pass through the fibers, making it breathable and less prone to stuffiness, which is also a major feature. This is something that cannot be achieved with ordinary chemical fibers or water-repellent coatings, making it a unique characteristic of Ventile. Also, the texture of cotton: Many waterproof fabrics are made of chemical fibers such as nylon, but as mentioned above, Ventile is 100% cotton. Because it is a natural fiber, it has a texture that chemical fibers do not.
