The AKAI MPC is a revolutionary machine that brought the sampling technique to HIPHOP. The culture of sampling existing music and reconstructing it with a new interpretation became an important turning point in music history. Nowadays, you can easily sample with software like Ableton Live, but the feel you can only get with hardware equipment stimulates the composer's imagination, and even though the work is the same, the quality of the resulting music is completely different. Also, the lo-fi, thick beats seen in the MPC2000 are still appealing, but the MPC Live 2 offers the charm of getting modern, hi-fi beautiful sounds.
