This is a set of two goshuin (temple seals) received at Tsushima Shrine in Tome City, Miyagi Prefecture, during the New Year of Reiwa 8 (2026). These are limited edition items. Get them early. ① Susanoo Hologram Goshuin - January 1, Reiwa 8 ② Hanachozu (foil-stamped) Goshuin - January 2, Reiwa 8 Deities: Takehaya Susanoo-no-Mikoto Divine Virtues: Protection from evil, matchmaking, warding off epidemics, maritime safety Susanoo-no-Mikoto is the younger brother of Amaterasu Omikami. He was born when Izanagi-no-Mikoto washed his nose. He was ordered to rule the sea, but he did not obey his father's command and only wept, refusing to govern. Therefore, Izanagi-no-Mikoto became angry and banished him to the Land of Roots. When he descended to the Land of Roots, he went to Takamagahara to bid farewell to his sister, Amaterasu Omikami. However, Amaterasu Omikami was wary of his volatile nature and how he came to Takamagahara. Susanoo-no-Mikoto swore to Amaterasu Omikami that he had no evil intentions, and with Izanagi-no-Mikoto's permission, he lived in Takamagahara for a while. However, due to his inherent tyranny, he repeatedly committed violent acts, causing Amaterasu Omikami to hide in Ama-no-Iwato (the rock cave of the sun goddess). The gods of Takamagahara held a conference at Ama-no-Yasukawa (the river of peace in heaven) and, after having Susanoo-no-Mikoto atone for his sins, banished him. Susanoo-no-Mikoto continued his journey and arrived in Izumo Province, where he slew the Yamata no Orochi (eight-headed serpent) and presented the Ame no Murakumo no Tsurugi (sword of the gathering clouds of heaven) that emerged from its tail to Amaterasu Omikami. Because of his connection to slaying the Yamata no Orochi, he married Inadahime and came to live in Izumo. Will be reinforced with cardboard and shipped anonymously.
