This is a pure copper Tiger Bo (ko-haku) made by Naomin Kobayashi. The Tiger Bo is a type of bell, a musical instrument made in the middle of the Western Zhou Dynasty (around 900 BC). The pattern is called a Taotie pattern, and it is a representative design that was frequently used on ancient Chinese bronze vessels of the time. On both sides, there are two tiger-shaped designs in a pierced-carving style, arranged facing downwards. In the center axis, there is one phoenix-shaped design on each side. On the lower part of the back of the Tiger Bo, the Sumitomo mark, the year 1986, and the inscription of Naomin Kobayashi are engraved. It is in a beautiful condition with no stains or scratches.
