This is a 1980 macro lens, rare in the Leica R mount. It inherits the optical design of the Elmarit, with 6 elements in 7 groups, and performs flawlessly from close-up to infinity. The helicoid and focus ring torque are appropriate, with no grease separation or balsam separation. There are few scratches or dust on the lens. The lens barrel has slight scuffs and paint wear from use. Please check the photos if you are concerned. Because it's a Leica R mount, you can maximize the lens's potential by using a mount adapter on a full-frame or APS-C mirrorless camera. I used it with a Ricoh GXR.
