Otaru-yaki has been beloved for its characteristic translucent blue-green glaze, known as Midori-Gyoku Oribe. This piece is from the "Otaru Hakusei Toen" kiln, which closed in 2007 to the regret of many. With the end of the Otaru kiln, no new works are being produced, making Otaru-yaki a valuable item that is no longer obtainable.
