The FLAP Roller Yaen is specialized for catching squid. We focused on hooking squid reliably without causing them to feel any resistance, and the result of subtracting unnecessary elements is this ultra-lightweight, one-touch roller yaen. The roller is a straight PTFE (fluororesin) tube. My personal belief is that I don't see the need for a yaen's flipping function, considering the risk of line trouble caused by unexpected flipping upon water entry, which is common with flip-up yaen! If the weight and balance are appropriate, it will always flip up (Head Up) upon arrival! Especially with my yaen, the FLAP receives water pressure like an airplane wing, causing it to Head Up as soon as it arrives. Of course, it also Head Ups when you set the hook. Also, to accommodate 20cm size horse mackerel, I've made the distance from the first fulcrum to the tip approximately 20cm, and I've also changed the hook to size L. If you hold the horse mackerel vertically, it will hook at the mouth with a high probability. The first fulcrum roller is 2mm in diameter, so yaen stoppers can also be used. During the prototype phase, I had several friends try it out, and they reported that they had the "feeling of hooking the squid as soon as it arrived."
