This is a 4/4 size antique violin made by T. BAUR (Thomas Bauer), a luthier who was active in Mirecourt, France. It has beautiful wood grain (tiger stripe) and is very carefully made, and is in excellent condition, considering it was made in 1901. ♪ Sound Review The sound starts up smoothly and responds well, and even with a light touch, the sound comes out clearly, with a warm and deep resonance that is impressive. ■ The violin body has some minor scratches, small dents, and deterioration of the clear coating, but it is in good condition for its age. ■ The strings have been newly replaced. ■ The bow is a German-made DODD and has plenty of hair remaining. ■ The hard case is made by GEWA and has some minor stains on the inside. ■ Accessories included as a bonus are rosin, a tuning fork, and spare strings. ※ The sound post is currently standing, but it may fall over due to vibrations during transportation. In that case, please have the buyer reset it, or have it adjusted at a musical instrument store, etc.
