This is a branching cable for expanding the pads of Roland V-Drums' TD series sound module. With newer sound modules, standard commercially available Y-cables cannot be used for branching as is, but by using this cable, you can assign different sounds to pads (such as toms) where the head and rim have different sounds assigned. This is very convenient if you want to assign the sounds of the rim of a tom, which you don't use often, to an added pad. Operation has been confirmed with TD-4, TD-9, TD-07, TD-11, TD-12, TD-15, TD-17, TD-20, TD-27, and TD-30, and it is believed that pads with rim shot and rim sensitivity adjustment capabilities from the TD-4 onwards can be branched (operation has also been confirmed with Alesis Crison II). *We do not recommend this for the TD-25 due to significant branching limitations. The adjustable range varies depending on the sound module, and in some cases, it may be difficult to adjust the settings depending on the combination of the sound module and pads. Please refer to the attached images for details. Please note that mono-connected pads, such as kick pads, cannot be branched.
