I made it shorter than ready-made clothes, keeping in mind that it would be nice if it were a little shorter so it wouldn't get caught on the tail when going to the bathroom (o^^o)
It's a stretchy and fluffy knit. Even if it fits snugly, I don't think it will feel tight. We dress our dog in it snugly.
