This is a small plate I purchased at an antique market. I was drawn to the vibrant peonies and decided to bring it home. The circular window in the center seems to depict a landscape with houses and sailboats. Upon closer inspection, it's a bit odd, perhaps a stylized design? It doesn't quite feel right, but that's also what's interesting about it. Around the circular window are peonies and geometric patterns. The composition and color scheme evoke the Taisho Roman aesthetic. There is some paint flaking, but otherwise, there don't seem to be any noticeable major scratches or chips.
