This is a pattern for an easy-to-make beret. The pattern includes all sizes: 49, 51, 53, 55, 57, and 59 cm. You can make hats for children and adults. (Adult sizes will likely be around 57 or 59 cm.) All sizes are drawn overlapping, so please cut out the pattern you wish to use or trace it onto a separate sheet. The construction is very simple, so please try making them with various fabrics. (Depending on who is making it, it can be finished in a relatively short time.) It's also cute to add a pom-pom made of fur or other material to the top! For choosing the size, I think it's best to select a size that is about 2-3 cm larger than your head circumference. (The feeling of size when worn may vary slightly depending on the thickness and stiffness of the fabric, and how your hair is.) The hat is designed to be reversible. (However, if you attach a pom-pom to one side, it cannot be reversible.) Images 1 and 3 show a hat made with a head size of 52 cm using the 55 cm pattern. Image 2 shows a hat made with a head size of 44 cm (1 year 2 months old) using the 49 cm pattern. It's a bit large, but it doesn't look strange. It's cute. You can make it with 30 cm each of outer and lining fabric if you have fabric that is 110 cm wide. You will also need to prepare some medium-weight fusible interfacing, as it will be applied to one side. The pom-pom in the image is about 4 cm in diameter. We will send you the hand-drawn pattern on A3 copy paper along with detailed instructions that are easy for beginners to follow. Seam allowances are not included on the pattern, but the amount of seam allowance and other details are written in the instructions.
