Kati Tuominen-Niittylä is known as the designer of the bird-shaped "Storybird" from Arabia, the handleless decanter "Gluck" from Iittala, the "Venetsia Plate," and the "KoKo series" in collaboration with Kristina Riska. She received the "Pro Finlandia" medal, the highest honor awarded annually since 1945 to Finnish artists, in 2018. Incidentally, Mr. Fujio Ishimoto, a former Marimekko designer, also received this prestigious award.
