This is a sometsuke (blue and white) bowl I purchased at an antique market. I found it interesting that the landscape design in the center and the border pattern have different styles, which is why I brought it home. The center features a landscape with mountains and water. There are houses on a cliff. A sailboat in the distance. Mountains in the background. Only the triangular mountain in the very back is cute. Around the center are flowers and butterflies. The flowers with pointed petals are particularly striking. It's a design that tightly encapsulates the scenery of a nearby field. It's a wonderful composition that encompasses the scenery from the foreground to the distance. There is a slight chip on the rim, but it's not too bad for a lobed rim. Otherwise, there don't seem to be any noticeable large scratches or chips. Please check the images carefully. Size: Width: 19.5 cm Height: 7 cm
