This is something my mother, who used to do various handicrafts, had stored away. The material is probably genuine silk, and I believe it's a *tsukesage* (semi-formal kimono) with fine gold embroidery. It's old, so there are fine stains overall. I was thinking of having it dyed and made into a garment, but I decided against it since I don't seem to have the opportunity to wear it.
