Thank you for looking. Tōshichi Iwata, a pioneer of Japanese colored glass art, began creating works using blown colored glass in 1927 (Shōwa 2), a time when there was no such thing as glass craft. Through his unique techniques born from extensive research and a sense of beauty rooted in Japanese culture, he created a completely original world of glass and pioneered Japanese glass art. Tōshichi Iwata's eldest son, Hisatoshi Iwata, his wife, Itoko Iwata, and his grandson, glass artist Ruri Iwata. The "glass art" of three generations of the Iwata family is full of the warmth and softness of vibrant glass, and its rich colors and beautiful flowing shapes are the essence of glass art that can be proudly presented to the world.
