It is also the jeans that first reproduced vintage jeans. Born in 1986, it is known as the ancestor of replica jeans in Japan. Using denim fabric woven with uneven yarn dyed using "kase dyeing," a traditional Japanese indigo dyeing technique using tade (Japanese knotweed) indigo, STUDIO D'ARTISAN & SA.'s commemorative first model was created by researching vintage jeans from the 1950s and earlier, when jeans were at their peak, and combining their details with the silhouette of French work pants through their own interpretation.
