This is a **silver scale (ginbakari)** purchased by my father in 1970 (Showa 45) from "Matsuki Shokai" in Nihonbashi. The receipt from that time lists "silver scale" and "cloud-shaped ruler," and it has been stored in its original box ever since. Originally, it was a balance-type scale used to accurately weigh precious metals like silver. However, there is some discoloration on the metal parts and paulownia wood box due to aging (approx. 55 years), and fraying/deterioration of the tassel part of the purple braided cord. The threads of the tassel part in particular are prone to falling off if touched, so it needs to be handled gently. This item is more suitable for display and collection than for practical use. 【Notes】 ※ The receipt includes both the cloud-shaped ruler and the silver scale, but it is included as a record of the purchase.
