Graduated from Togatta Junior High School in March 1948, and learned kokeshi painting from her father, Yoshiaki, in 1950. Married Mikio Konno, a disciple of Yoshiaki, in 1958. After marriage, Mikio continued to work as a craftsman under Yoshiaki, but in 1962, the couple moved to Sendai and started their own business. From 1964, she began painting on the wood turned by her husband, Mikio. Her husband, Mikio, did not do painting for a long time, but started painting from 1979.
