In Yokohama, where foreign influences are beginning to sprout, there is a swordsman. His name is Yojiro Akizuki. He possesses the spirit sword "Getsuruito" and is called the "Eternal Assassin," whose destiny is to seal his head. Once serving as Sakamoto Ryoma's bodyguard, Yojiro deeply regrets not being able to save him. Carrying an unhealed wound in his heart, he pursues the "Head of the Conqueror," which has been resurrected in the end of the Edo period. He saves a child who was about to be caught up in a fight and meets a traveling theater troupe whose main purpose is "revenge." The troupe's enemy, Juheibei Nakaiya, possesses the "Head of the Conqueror." And Yojiro pursues the head.
