This is a commemorative postmark from Hakodate Central Post Office. August 9th, Reiwa 7 (2025), a date with the consecutive numbers 789. On the "Fumi no Hi" (Letter Day) released on July 23rd of the same year, I had the postmark applied to a design that I thought, "Stars, lighthouse, ship, sea = Hakodate!" The base is a Hakodate Central Post Office limited edition red and white postcard "Hokkaido_02" featuring Goryokaku. The sale of local form cards has been announced to end, and there are concerns about the inventory of limited items at each post office, such as red and white postcards. Based on my checks at various places, while some still have them, it seems best to assume they are generally unavailable. I like pictorial cancellations such as special postmarks, first day cancellations, and small postmarks, and I am selling items I have created as a hobby.
