Jitsujo-ji Temple (also known as Tamon-ji Temple) of the Tendai sect, a temple commemorating the soul of Goto Matabei A temple dedicated to Goto Matabei, a valiant warrior who served Kuroda Kanbei and Toyotomi Hideyori. He was one of the "Twenty-Four Knights of Kuroda" led by Kuroda Kanbei, and also one of the "Five Heroes of Osaka" during the Summer Siege of Osaka. It is said that in the second year of Genwa (1616), Matabei's son, Taro Masakata, received a land donation from the Iwamoto Kanbei family of Ozaki Village to mourn his father who died in the Summer Siege of Osaka, and the temple was founded on the first anniversary of Matabei's death (May 6th). The main hall enshrines the memorial tablet of Goto Matabei. Goto Matabei, a Sengoku warlord and one of the "Five Heroes of Osaka Castle" who has appeared in historical dramas. Tamon-ji Temple was built to mourn him and his son.
