◎ This cat is named "Ch'ing Dynasty". It is one of the cats from the limited edition cat collection series sold by Franklin Mint in 1986. It is about 7cm tall and 5cm wide. It weighs about 160gm. This cat made of jade glass is named after the Ch'ing Dynasty, which ruled China from 1644 to 1912. Jade could not be mined in China and had to be imported, but jade has been treasured as a mystical substance in China. The wealthy have carved jade into exquisite shapes to create decorative items. Franklin Mint, an American company dealing in high-end decorative items, was founded around 1964. The Curio Cabinet Cat Collection first series was sold in 1986, with two more series released in 1988 and shortly thereafter, but Franklin Mint has not produced or sold any further cat series since then. The characteristic of this cat series is that it uses various techniques from different eras and around the world in different styles. ◎ This is a vintage item, over 30 years old.
