This is a Nagoya obi featuring karajishi botan (Chinese lion and peony) that anyone who loves antique kimonos has likely seen. While there is some wear and tear, it's in very good condition for an antique. There are a few spots that look like stains, but they are not very noticeable. The dynamic lions, rendered in gold thread and colorful silk threads, are as lively as a painting. This obi has the Taisho Roman era satin ground often seen with this pattern, but this obi is more tightly woven than satin, though still lustrous.
