You can switch the steam vent on and off by turning the plate at the bottom of the knob. This will be especially useful when cooking rice, which tends to boil over easily. The lid is also from Royal Queen. I purchased this used from this site for myself. After purchasing it, I used it a few times and then stored it on a shelf. After purchasing it, I replaced the handle with a new one. The original knob was deteriorated, so I disposed of it. This pot can still be used sufficiently.
