This is a mizutsugi (also known as mizasashi, suichu, or sensenbin), used as a tea utensil for sencha tea. It is made of white porcelain, giving it a luxurious feel, and is decorated with relief carvings (yokoku: carving that makes characters or pictures appear to protrude) of phoenixes and dragons. The lid features a lion, and the underside of the lid bears the name "Imari Saiun." It is also made deep so that the lid does not fall off when pouring.
