About Horsebutt:
This is horse leather manufactured by MARYAM in the Santa Croce sull'Arno region of Tuscany, Italy.
It is tea-core leather made by tanning the high-density fiber "BUTT" (buttocks) of the horse with vegetable tannins, dyeing the base color in a brown shade, and then painting the surface with black pigment.
As for its physical properties, it is vegetable-tanned and made using the Vacchetta method, so the leather is well-oiled, making it easy to break in, and it is a leather that shows the unique aging of tea-core leather.
