Kurosawa Gakki Original Ukulele All solid mahogany, originally equipped with straight friction pegs, but these have been replaced with geared tuners to make tuning easier for beginners. My daughter used this until recently. The sound is somewhat subdued, but it's highly recommended for those who want to start playing the ukulele, those who are interested, or those considering MAHALO or ALA MOANA ukuleles. It has been adjusted so that even my elementary school-aged daughter doesn't get sore fingers (see the last photo). The MAHALO and ALA MOANA ukuleles mentioned above are not adjusted at all, so if you want one for interior decoration, then those are fine. However, if you want to learn to play the ukulele, I highly recommend one that has been adjusted. For this listing: The entire ukulele has been cleaned, the nut has been adjusted, the frets have been polished, and the fingerboard has been oiled and moisturized. The nut adjustment (see the last photo) has been set as low as possible to prevent finger pain. This has been well-received by past buyers and students.
