This is a Shinsatsu (sacred amulet) from Hayachine Shrine (Yahaba Town) in Iwate Prefecture, dedicated to the deity Seoritsu-hime. Yahaba Hayachine Shrine is said to have been founded in 795 AD (Enryaku 14) as "Shinyama Daigongen," enshrining the three female deities of the Tono Sanzan (Mount Hayachine, Mount Rokkakuushi, and Mount Ishigami). Later, the present Okumiya (inner shrine) was built on the summit of Mount Hayachine, and Satomiya (village shrines) were established at the foot of Mount Hayachine in four directions. The enshrined deity, Seoritsu-hime, is also enshrined at the Ise Jingu Naiku Aramatsuri-no-miya. It is said that before Amaterasu Omikami was considered a female deity, she was the husband of Amaterasu Omikami. She is also one of the Harai-do no Okami (deities of purification).
