Ikaruga-dera Temple is a Tendai Buddhist temple located in Ikaruga, Taishi-cho, Ibo-gun, Hyogo Prefecture. It is a temple with a history of 1400 years since its founding by Prince Shotoku and is a temple associated with Prince Shotoku, founded as a branch temple of Horyu-ji Temple. The principal images are the three statues of Shaka Nyorai, Yakushi Nyorai, and Nyoirin Kannon. It is the 32nd temple of the New Saigoku 33 Kannon Pilgrimage. It is the 28th temple of the Shotoku Taishi Reijoki 28 Temples Pilgrimage. This offering is a set of two items: a goshuin (temple seal) of the "Daiko-do Hall" and a brief history of Ikaruga-dera Temple. In 604, Prince Shotoku lectured on the *Shoman-kyo Sutra* in front of Empress Suiko at Toyoura-no-miya Palace in Asuka (present-day Tachibana-dera Temple). Empress Suiko was greatly pleased and donated one hundred cho (a unit of land measurement) of rice fields in Ibo-gun, Harima Province, to Prince Shotoku. Prince Shotoku named that land "Ikaruga-sho" and built a temple there, which was the beginning of Ikaruga-dera Temple. Prince Shotoku donated Ikaruga-dera Temple to Horyu-ji Temple, and it flourished as a Horyu-ji Temple's shōen (manor) for nearly a thousand years thereafter.
