When you press the button, Stitch lights up in a rainbow. I've had this for about 10 years and have kept it in a dark place without ever using the ballpoint pen. Currently, the black ink is smudged and difficult to write with, but the light works fine. I also took a picture of it lit up. It's a bit blurry, but please take a look if you'd like. It seems you can replace the button battery and use it. Since it's not very reliable as a ballpoint pen, how about using it as a Halloween decoration or a collectible?
