This is a traditional Aizu hand-painted (by Shunpo) jewelry box. It's a jewelry box with a clematis design painted in gold. Mother-of-pearl is inlaid in the center of the clematis flowers. It contains a music box that plays "Für Elise." Turning the screw on the back will play the music box. There are some minor scratches on the lid, but they are barely noticeable. There are some areas where the fabric inside the red box has darkened. I think this happened when I was storing rings. I had two jewelry boxes, but I've decided to sell this beautiful one after consolidating to one. It's a lovely jewelry box with gold that shines against the black background. It is a used item, so it is offered at a bargain price.
