Aji-kiri knife, blade length 11.7cm, 97g. The back is about 3.1mm thick near the top of the heel. Unfortunately, there is no maker's mark. Although difficult to see in the photos, the line between the soft iron and steel is clearly visible to the naked eye for about 3mm of the blade edge. It looks like a genuine kasumi (laminated) blade with soft iron and steel bonded together. I was debating between this and a ko-deba knife, but I chose the aji-kiri because it's thinner. There are almost no rust marks, and it's clean. The diagonal lines characteristic of a new blade remain overall on both sides. The handle has been replaced with a new one and should last for a while. I sharpened it thoroughly, put an edge on it, and polished it. Please see my profile for detailed restoration processes.
