It appears to have been purchased 20-30 years ago. Since the materials used for the seals are a limited resource, the amount that can be mined is gradually decreasing, leading to price increases. I have also heard that the quality of the materials from the past is better than the current ones. As they are natural materials, there may be original minor scratches, unseen chips or dents, and internal cracks.
