The rooster bowl was a valuable item loved by royalty and nobility during the Ming Dynasty. From the Qing Dynasty to the 1960s, it became popular and was used in ordinary households. It was also exported to Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, becoming widespread. It is often used in Malaysia, and handmade ones are becoming less common.
