I washed the entire backpack with Paul (a low-foaming detergent with strong cleaning power) to remove overall dirt. After that, I gently scrubbed the white areas with a toothbrush and Utamaro soap. I think it removed a certain amount of dirt. I've included photos of before and after washing (photos 3 and 4). If you zoom in, you can see that the white areas are cleaner. The base of the zipper has some paint peeling. Please check the photos. If you are concerned about this, please refrain from purchasing. It's a durable construction.
