"History Revision Museum" Maki Komori Price: ¥3,300 → ¥2,899 In various parts of Europe and America, where xenophobia and conspiracy theories are rampant, I encountered numerous museums that practice "revision" to pass on negative history to the future— "Historical denial," which arbitrarily rewrites inconvenient pasts such as the trivialization of war responsibility, the justification of colonial rule, and the denial of discrimination, and "historical revision," which critically inherits the past and retells it in a more multi-layered way through the discovery of new historical materials and testimonies, and the expansion of perspectives. In an era of cultural wars where the two "revisions" clash, museums are now becoming a place to support the foundation of "narratives about the truth." How can we retell history now?
