Recently, I brought a similar cup with me when I was hospitalized, and it was very helpful (my age is showing!). Breakable cups are not allowed, but I don't like plastic. I was enjoying a graceful (but with a tea bag) tea time by myself. In my case, I wash my everyday teapots and mugs like these immediately after use, wipe them dry, and put them in a plastic bag of some kind, removing the air to try to slow down discoloration.
