【Japanese Traditional Craft】This is a vase by Seiroku Nakamura of Korai-an Seiroku Kiln, a famous Japanese kiln that has inherited the tradition of white porcelain and is a holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property. This vase is a finely detailed Sansui Shikaihamon (landscape and four seas wave pattern) vase painted in sometsuke (blue and white) on white porcelain, which is characteristic of Seiroku Nakamura. The very fine sometsuke of the Shikaihamon and landscape paintings are all hand-painted. The vase is also handmade on a potter's wheel.
