This is a Shigaraki-yaki tea bowl by Sadamitsu Sugimoto (residing in Shigaraki, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture), who is considered one of the leading figures in contemporary tea ceramics. The tea bowl was acquired separately, and a paulownia wood box (with four-way bridging) was custom-made and inscribed by the artist himself. A separate turmeric cloth is also included. As the photos show, it has a warped shape. I believe the pinkish firing color and the natural green glaze are the highlights. There is a "Sa" ceramic mark on the side of the foot. Size: Height: 5.5-6.3 cm, Mouth diameter: 17.7 x 16.3 cm (Please allow for some error as these measurements are taken by an amateur) After acquisition, the artist himself examined it. - The warped shape occurred naturally during the firing process. - The pinkish color was produced by mixing Kise (yellow clay) soil.
