This original material is made by applying combination tanning to carefully selected cowhide, then buffing the grain side (surface) to create a brushed finish, and finally repeatedly applying wax and oil. Because it contains a generous amount of oil, you can see "pull-up" when you rub or bend it, where the oil within the fibers moves, creating a rich expression throughout.
