Unfortunately, production ended in June 2022. ☆ Blue Onion was originally conceived in 1739 in Meissen, Germany, and is a world-famous white porcelain pattern. It features motifs of oriental fruits and plants such as pomegranates, but the name was established because Westerners at the time mistook them for onions. This "Blue Onion" design was inherited and named after its deep indigo color (blue) and the Danube River (Danube) flowing through Vienna. ☆ One of the four major Blue Onion patterns, it is also called "Japanese Blue Onion" and is a faithful reproduction as Mino ceramic ware, based on the traditional Japanese dyeing techniques. ☆ It is also compatible with microwave ovens and dishwashers, making it ideal for everyday use.
