Born in Aomori Prefecture. His real name was Kunio. In 1940, he was selected for the first time in the 2600th Anniversary Exhibition. After that, he was selected for the 4th and 5th Shin-Bunten exhibitions. He also continued to exhibit at the Nitten from the 2nd exhibition. In 1952, he created the metal fittings for the reconstruction of the Kikusui Hoko of the Gion Festival. In 1954, he exhibited "Yokko Tetsudashi Okimono" at the 10th Nitten and won the Hokuto Prize. In 1964, he exhibited "Sosei" at the 7th Nitten and won the Kikuka Prize. In 1967, he became a member of the Japan Contemporary Craft Art Exhibition, and the following year he became a member of the Nitten. In 1977, he held the "Shomin Kobayashi and His Four Sons Exhibition" in Aomori City.
