The Battle of Tottori Castle took place in 1581 (Tensho 9). Hideyoshi Hashiba, on the side of Nobunaga Oda, led a large army to besiege Tottori Castle and employed a starvation tactic. Motonari Kikkawa, the lord of the castle on the side of Terumoto Mori, committed seppuku in exchange for the lives of the castle soldiers, and surrendered the castle. On the occasion of the 440th anniversary of the death of Lord Motonari Kikkawa, who was once the lord of Tottori Castle, and because August 19th was the day Hideyoshi Hashiba arrived at Taikogahara during the Battle of Tottori Castle in 1581, battle seals of the military commanders have been sold since August 19, 2021. The contents of the battle seals include the battle name "Battle of Tottori Castle in 1581" and the names of four military commanders: Motonari Kikkawa, Hideyoshi Hashiba, Nobunaga Oda, and Terumoto Mori, with the family crests of each military commander's family.
